Lockhart Wavefolder Eurorack Module with Vactrol Modulation
The Lockhart wavefolder is a circuit designed to produce complex waveshapes from a single input signal. It is essentially an analog signal processor, which takes a sine wave input, and produces a wide range of complex waveshapes.
It is named after its inventor, Donald Lockhart.
The circuit is typically composed of two parts: an input stage, where the incoming signal is split into two halves, and an output stage, where the two halves of the signal are combined and shaped. The input stage is usually an amplifier or a mixer, and the output stage is usually a non-linear function generator. The two halves of the signal are then combined according to the parameters set by the user.
The Lockhart wavefolder is useful for producing complex sound textures, as well as for adding musicality to a signal. It is commonly used in the production of synthesizers and other musical instruments.
It's very simple, but it's an essential addition to any eurorack system.
This version has vactrol modulation possibilities, with a switch to choose which side of the potentiometer is affected.
