NSL-32 DC-coupled opto-coupler VCA 1U Tile

The first in a line of opto-coupler (you may be more familiar with the trademarked term Vactrol) based VCAs. The NSL-32 is a cheap, yet capable opto unit.

The VCA is DC coupled with a -3dB frequency in excess of 20kHz. The control response is linear-esque (as an optical element can be) with 0V as off and +5V as unity gain. Control voltages greater than +5 will generate positive gain. Saturation will occur when the output attempts to exceed around 20 Vpp.
