I would like to see a section for studio rack gear. Ive had to add them to the guitar pedal section hidden but this seems like a logical progression

Fusion success! :)

Love the "sax" freakout solo!

I love all of Miles' music and appreciate the Brew influence...

A Buffered Mult: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/intellijel-buff-mult

You will be able to modulate multiple parameters simultaneously with a single voltage source (1 x 6) or send the same pitch sequence to both Dixie and Plaits, or split the Out from Plaits into multiple paths (i.e one into MFX—one into Filter) and create a multi-dimensional layered sound that you could Pan around. Lots more.
-- Toccata

Excellent! That was my first instinct; again, we seem to be on the same wavelength. :)

I definitely like the idea of the flexibility and extra capability of a buffered mult vs. using stackcables or those multi hub thingys. And I definitely like feeding things into the x-pan.

Great advice, thanks as always! I will continue to think about it before making the decision, but this goes a long way towards helping me. :)

Any other thoughts on other possible ways to use up the last 2hp, anyone?

This is where it stands now. Still 2hp to work with. Gonna think long and hard about it.

Suggestions?

Thanks! :)

Thread: UX

Thanks for reporting all this. I read it all and want to fix everything but everything is going slower than I wished.

As a user I want to be able to export a csv from the data sheet page, or hide specific columns in that view.

Not CSV but on the My Modular page you can get a XML page of your rack with all the modules. Just add .xml to the URL. (Unicorn feature)
I see it would make more sense with CSV and the data sheet page, that might come.

Please remove keybindings

this is already possible with the Keyboard Shortcuts switch in rack view?

Please detect mobile and enable lock by default for mobile

Good call

Please enable transferring of a module between cases

There is a workaround but (cough) keyboard shortcuts must be enabled for this. You can copy/paste modules between browser windows with the c and v shortcuts.

Thanks for supporting!

Straightforward build, though probably not best for your first or second. No surface mount.
Needs calibration, and you’ll need a scope, frequency counter, or good tuner to calibrate.

Works well, both for straight quantization and for interesting arpeggios with, say, an LFO as the voltage input. All in all a very useful unit.

Thread: UX

Heello, a few things that are a bit rough sometimes. For context I am a paid user and have been on the site for a few years, also work as a UI Eng

  • Why would I ever need keybindings to flip or duplicate, or do anything on this site really. All it does it that randomly when I search for a module below, in case I lose focus of the search bar (which happens accidentally all the time), that it just hoses my whole rack - flipping things, duplicating things... deleting things - until I realize what I am doing. What was that cool module? We will never know, because no undo or history :)

  • On mobile it doesn't seem to load a unique experience, so when trying to scroll thru your rack (not locked by default in mobile), again your rack is just hosed because it's dragging things around randomly and resorting, etc.

  • Messages UI seems kinda clunky and I'm often struggling to find the specific message that actually contains the tracking # I'm looking for etc, maybe because the previous replies are contained in nested quote trees, if captured in the threads further replies at all.

Feature request stories:
- As a user I want to be able to transfer a module from one of my racks to another without needing to navigate away from my current view.
- As a user I want to be able to export a csv from the data sheet page, or hide specific columns in that view.

Probably known bug:
- Re-arranging indicators are unreliable and often end w/ modules being resorted even when it looks like they will settle in without conflict.

I realize you guys have actually recently implemented a bunch of things I was going to add here! I want to close with saying I love ModularGrid. The deeper and more familiar I become with the site, the more genius and awesome I realize it is. It's well thought out and it really enables the community to be consumer gluttons to the max. Obviously people here care, so I don't feel like I am wasting time by writing this, and hope folks know I come from a place of utter Kumbayance. If I can help clarify anything then plz let me know but my TLDR is:

Please remove keybindings
Please detect mobile and enable lock by default for mobile
Please enable transferring of a module between cases

Polyphony is possible but incredibly expensive and severely limited in modular. Saving presets is not a benefit of modular.
It sounds like what you want or need is a fixed architecture synth like the DSI Prophet Rev2 or something similar.
Have fun and good luck.

Hi,
Normally the busboards have a series of filters and components at the input. There they sell 16-pin adapters to terminals to be able to connect them at the entrance.
https://www.thomann.de/gb/nano_modules_eurorack_power_adapter.htm
There are also some fonts that have terminal output, I think Modulaire Maritime https://www.modulairegrid.net/e/modulaire-maritime-cargo.

I don't know, I just gave you general ideas.
It seems to me that the Doepfer busboard has fast-on type flat terminals and the adapter that I am telling you about is for a screw terminal

-- ferranadsr

Sure - that's why I looked up the NANO bus board, which seems to be made to use in conjunction with the adapter you mentioned above (if I understood correctly !).

Thank you for your help :)

Hi guys, I’m new to “Modulars” and I want to Create my Own Sounds and Save the sounds I make as Presets so that I can return to them whenever I compose. On top of this (and more importantly), I want to be able to use Multiple Voices and Oscillators, whilst playing any Chord of choice - with as many notes as I want via a midi Keyboard - thus having complete control and endless possibilities with a “Modular Synth”.

Is it possible to do this with Modules? Is my only course of action to buy multiple units of the same ”Types” of modules in order for this to work? Or is there better, more efficient way of doing this without having to procure so many modules - whilst still being able to do everything that I want to do on a modular synth?

Thanking anyone, in advance, for any help and advice you may be able to give.

I would like to know why this listing says the Optomix is a mixer.
-- mg356

Technically it is a mixer if you use the "Aux" input.

Hi there,

I researched a bit in the Forum archives but couldn't seem to find anything related to this exact situation, so here I go :

I had a µZeus power module with 2 flying bus cables for a while, cheap & nice, but I need a little more power now.

I am leaning toward the Eowave source d'energie with a 4ms Power Brick, connecting to something like a Doepfer A-100 bus board with a 16-pin power cable - is this doable ? I mean can i plug the 16-pin cable to one of the inlets of the bus and have the power being transmitted to the others, like it seems to work on a flying bus cable, or is it not working like this at all ? I'm quite new to this :)

Thanks !

Realise this is now a long time ago, but does anyone know if the MK2 expander will work with a MK1 Quadra? I'm guessing/hoping yes...

Does anyone know where I can find a video tutorial or review on the Maneco Labs Clusterverb? I don't see anything on YT or the maker's website.

OK, well i had them all named like starting with zeros and underscores what i wanted on top, now everything is messed up

Jim is correct, though, of course.

99% of the time, I think the Mantis would've been the way to go. It simply doesn't fit my space or workflow. :)

the other 1% of the time the space/workflow needs tweaking to fit...

Lol...

Sorry, not the "case" for me.
-- Jukeshoe

well - I can see how you would think that... resistance to change and resistance to expending effort to change, not seeing the wood for the trees etc...

anyway - no need t0 be sorry

the truth is almost definitely somewhere between my opinion and yours - I'm leaning towards mine - hehehe

Also, for the record, 0-ctrl has quantized voltage outputs via knobs for each step, largely removing the need for a quantized voltage module, as long as you don't have a tin ear and are comfy tuning manually.

Likewise, there's a clock source. and sequencer. May still need a divider down the line, but for a small setup, the 0-ctrl handles timing, gates, and quantized voltages...paired with the cycle of Maths, and I'm pretty well covered in that area.

Still a few pieces yet to arrive, but I put together most of it (still missing LGP, Pico Mix, FX unit). Powered it up and jammed hard last night, with good first results (not sure I was expecting much first couple of patches, but I ended up getting some nice noisey random glitchy beats, which is very encouraging).

Source of Uncertainty plays very, very well with this setup, super glad I stuck to my guns with this unit. It's like a play=able chaos machine...super musical. But gets really nice worbles and wobbles and interesting timings going.

Feeding its noise generators into the inputs for Fluctuating Random Voltages creates some moments, lol.

Super impressed with Dixie, Dual VCF, & Quad VCA...my only real complaint is I didn't buy enough patch cables, so I kept running out of cables 3/4's of the way through a patch. I got a huge multi-pack but I guess I need MOAR!

Recorded everything direct in, and it was pretty wild signal even with external mixer, so I am going to get a output module on the way, and swap out the Doepfer External In A-119 for another time...I'm sufficiently pleased with the results at the moment that I'm satisfied with NOT sending my guitar signal through.

Even with a dry signal and no effects, by modulating the modulation with the ADE-50 thru dixie and 266t outputs I'm getting some pretty gnarly sounds.

Plaits is fun, too, but I tried not to lean on it too much. ;)

Overall first result: success!

I'll go back over last night's jams and see if anything is worth sharing.

Natural sort of Rack names

In Rack view under Switch and in the command center the names are now sorted "naturally" instead by string.

was:
1. Rack 1
11. Rack 11
2. Rack 2

now:
1. Rack 1
2. Rack 2
11. Rack 11

-- modulargrid

Yes, there was a message in the Change Log a few weeks ago.

Hi, did they recently change the sort order of the racks in command center ?
Its definitely different some that were on top are now somewhere else.
Can i change that, don't find it.
