Oberheim SEM VCF

There’s nothing like that ’70s sounds of an Oberheim filter. It was a unique and beautiful part of the musical ensemble many of us grew up to or grew to love. That sound can now be part of your synthesizer ensemble thanks to Jeff Farr’s version of Tom Oberheim’s masterpiece the Moogah SEM VCF

This faithful recreation of the original 2-Pole filter features 2 input channels with 2 inputs each. Mixing of each input per channel can be done through front panel controls.

There are also inputs for standard and attenuverted control voltages. Both inputs can be used and controlled simultaneously.

Speaking of simultaneously 4 filtered outputs are available simultaneously. Lowpass, Bandpass and Highpass outputs are all present. In addition a fourth output is available for a variably swept filter. There is a control to set this frequency or to just sweep through the whole frequency band for the heck of it. The sounds it produces are incredible!

The module is 2U width with 1″ (25.4mm) knobs controlling 2 potentiometers, 0.748″ (19mm) knobs controlling 2 potentiometers and a 1.18″ (30mm) knob for frequency control.

The panel for this module is by Caleb Condit.

The module operates at +/- 15V and comes with a Synthesizers.com style power connector.
