AM1047K KEYBOARD PERCUSSION

Keyboard Percussion for the Behringer 1047 Multi Mode Filter

This 8HP module adds the missing keyboard percussion feature to the Behringer 1047 Multi Mode Filter, and enables percussive ringing tones to be generated from an attached CV and Gate keyboard (or sequencer).
Originally the Gate, Trigger and Pitch signals were patched into the ARP 1047 using dedicated inputs, connected to the upper matrix switches. The AM1047K creates the keyboard percussion feature by patching three cables into the Behringer 1047 (Input, FCV1 and Q CV), and connecting the AM1047K module to the Gate and Pitch CV signals of a Eurorack keyboard or sequencer.

How it Works The 1047 will not resonate without an input signal, so a Trigger signal (created from the Gate signal) is conditioned, and sent into the audio input of the filter to create a short blip of sound.

The Pitch signal from a keyboard (or sequencer) modifies the frequency cutoff of the filter, so that different tones will sound at different frequencies. The Frequency knob on the Behringer 1047 can be adjusted to taste.

The initial ringing of this tone is created by the Gate being ON and driving the Q set by the AM1047K Initial Q pot. When the a note is release (Gate is OFF) the value of the Initial Q pot is set to zero and the Final Q pot is now active. This enables a tone to decay from one resonance setting to another.

The AM1047K has control pots for Initial Q and Final Q, and the module translates the +5V Eurorack gate signal to the required +10V gate and trigger. The AM1047K should be unpatched from the B1047 when its used for normal filtering duties.

There are five 3.5 mm jack sockets on the base of the anodised aluminium front panel:
Gate - +5V Euorrack gate signal
Pitch - 0 to +10v pitch CV
Input - connects to Input of the Behringer 1047
FCV1 - connects to FCV1 input of the Behringer 1047
QCV - connects to Q CV input of the Behringer 1047
There is a red LED indicator for the input gate signal, so you know when its working ok and the source of the Pitch and Gate signal can be set to INT (Doepfer bus) or EXT (external jack sockets).

The module comes with a set of M3 mounting screws and washers, and a standard 16-way Doepfer power cable.
