The Beepboop 2hp Mono Tape head module is a NAB EQ and amplifier circuit designed to be used to amplify magnetic tape up to modular level. The module uses an IC commonly found in car stereos giving it a unique nostalgic tone.
The module comes with a wired tape head and some magnetic tape with voices on it so you can get started experimenting straight away!
Playback and scratch through cassette tape recordings to discover new found sounds. The module is a very hands on expressive and playable way of experimenting with magnetic tape.
Try recording sounds such as drums, voices and synthesizers to tape, cut them up and stick them to a flat surface to make your own soundboard.
Featuring 60db of gain the tape head picks up some noise when handled but this can be resolved by grounding yourself or tying it to something to create a tapehead wand.
