Gate and clock masker

This is a limited module .. the underlying concept might be spun into a bigger module one day.

It has 4 channels - each with an individual input and output.
The inputs are normaled from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 4
It has a global Clock and Reset input. This clock can either be a 4ppqn clock (16th) or MIDI with auto-crossover 3.5mm TRS input.
A 4ppqn clock is also normaled into channel 1's input. So you don't have to provide a input per channel, but you can.

Each channel can be set in one of two modes (not a global but a per channel selection)
Mode1 "Mask"
Mode2 "Gate"

Change channel by holdingin the CH button and select one of the 4 channel by pressing 1-4. The display will tell you the channel and it's mode for a few moments like "C1 g" or "C3 m" .. g or m stands for the mode.

Now to the modes:
"Mask" Mode is like a 16 step sequence that is advanced (clocked) by the channels input. Mask means: is the step on the gate passes, is the step off the gate gets cut out. The gates passes in full length, there is no trigger generated or so.
It is reset by either global reset, MIDI Start or when the counter hits the programmed length setting. The length setting is anything from 1 to 255 even if the pattern is just 16 steps long, which means you can do stuff like: letting the pattern run for 4 bars and then shift by a step (i.e. lenght = 65). IMAGINE THE POLYMETRICS!!
The weird shit tho is that you program the Mask in hex! Imagine a x0x style sequencer: step on is 1, step off is 0 so you have a 16bit long binary number, convert that to hex. So a four to the floor kick is 0b1000.1000.1000.1000 converts to 0x8888
I know this might not be in everyone's taste but is highly efficient and makes room for happy accidents when dialing in your mask!

"Gate" Mode is the following .. you schedule each channel with the global clock (4ppqn) and program a window with a start and a stop when the "gate" opens for the incoming signals. So basically you can do something like taking the gate output of a normal step sequencer but let in only pass for the 1st bar in 4 bars or only for the last quarter of each bar. Programmed in multiples of 16ths (so for those two examples: length 64, start 1, stop 16 or length is 16, start 11, stop 16).

In either mode, each channel also has its own length setting!
