Smartphone to Eurorack interface

Euromod is a powerful tool that:

• Accommodates a Moto Mod compatible smartphone using magnetic physical connection
• Operates with a dedicated Android app or standalone
• The companion app will have the option to share audio and MIDI with other apps
• Can process and store digitally 4 analog signals at 24 bits and 48KHz resolution
• Generate 4 CV signals from live performance, stored data and/or external MIDI
• Interface controls are a combination of touchscreen, five physical level knobs and a multipurpose pushing encoder
• Mix 4 analog signals and convert external MIDI to CV when smartphone is not connected
• Four red/green LEDs monitor CV outputs activity
• MIDI input to interconnect external gear or other modules is provided through DIN to jack special cable (provided with each euromod)
• Both module firmware and dedicated app seamlessly updatable from cloud
• Audiophile grade selected components
• Smartphone battery charging from Eurorack power supply

With these features, the module could perform nearly unlimited functions. However, we preferred to focus on it as a tool for analysis and audio recording from the synthesizer on one hand and for the control signals generation on the other. At the moment, we are choosing to leave out the audio signals generation and processing as there are already excellent digital and analog tools for this task.

General features

• CV outputs are generated as a sum of either values adjusted in “Font” screen (offset) and/or “Pads” screen played notes in addition to “Mod” screen corresponding oscilators
• If total value for a CV output exceeds the absolute range of -10V to +10V the signal will be clipped to this boundaries ("CV distortion")
• If sequencer is in Play state a 4 tracks of 16 stepped CVs will be reproduced
• 2 output modes (4 modulation outputs/monophonic with CV2 and clock)
• Tap tempo with physical push-button
• When user is touching a control in app, the encoder acts as physical adjust control
• External MIDI in clock overwrites internal app tempo

Mixer

• Adjust of record level for each input (or CV amount passed to “Font”) with vumeter monitoring
• 2 Rec modes (external inputs/app performance)

CV Font

• Global scale selection to generate quantized values
• Individually selectable range for each of 4 sources

Pads

• When in "4 modulation output mode" note pad value overwrites CV value for each output adjusted in the CV generator. First pad overwrites CV1, second simultaneous pressed pad overwrites CV2, and so on up to CV4
• When in "monophonic mode" each pad generates corresponding note in legato mode
• 2 configurable pad banks with note and velocity

Modulation LFOs

• Up to 4 synchable oscillators (sine, square, triangle waves) with a range from .003Hz to 50 Hz when in "4 modulation output mode"
• When in "monophonic output mode" only 2 LFO’s to modulate pitch and CV2 are active
• Rate controls switches to multiplier/divider factor when an oscillator is synched (1:8, 1:4, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, 8:1)
• 4 phase values for each synched LFO (0º, 90º, 180º and 270º)
