The Klacking Keypad is a tactile momentary gate user interface that can send gates or pass through input signals by pressing keyswitches. Inputs are normaled to ascending outputs if nothing is connected to their inputs allowing you to send copies of an input to multiple modules. Input 1 is normaled to a gate signal, when nothing is connected to its input. This gate signal is copied to ascending outputs until an input is connected, breaking the signal path. With nothing plugged into any inputs, you get 9 gate outputs.

The idea behind the Klacking Keypad was realized in the depths of Ambit Studio, when an old computer number pad was hacked into a passive eurorack switch. The result was an amazing tool to interact with the Eurorack system using multiple mechanical keyswitches as gates, which simply connected an input jack to an output jack in a passive circuit. The Klacking Keypad improves on this circuit, adding buffered outputs, a normalled gate signal, normalled inputs, in eurorack format.

Send gates to your trigger inputs and sequencers. Open VCAs. Send modulation signals.

The Klacking Keypad may look simple, but don't be fooled by its appearance. It can produce humongous patches!
