Extended technique generator

croak | noun a characteristic deep hoarse sound made by a frog or a crow. verb (informal) to die.

Croak is a dual generator that uses a topology resulting in the sounds of extended acoustic instrument techniques.

From smooth, to broken and creaky, from resonant digital rust to organic heaving, Croak sounds more "real" than your brain will accept as something coming from a Eurorack module.

The range of sounds is a testament to the inspiration behind the design: getting enamored with standalone synth entities like Rob Hordijk's Benjolin and Hikari's Duos, which are playable instruments in their own right, as much as free improv sounds from composers like Steve Lacy, Colin Stetson, Evan Parker, and Peter Brötzmann, the intent of Croak is to combine the two worlds into a design for the Eurorack performer.

The beast. The spirit. The machine.
