Korg Polysix-Inspired Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO)

The P610 Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) draws it's inspiration from the VCO found in the Korg Polysix; featuring a similar, discrete-based sawtooth core and unmistakably warm, analog sound that can only be derived from such a design.

Outputs include simultaneous sawtooth and PW (pulse) waveforms, along with a dedicated sub-oscillator that can be set to -1 or -2 octaves below the main oscillator. A mix out provides a summed output comprising the sawtooth, PW and sub-oscillator waveforms.

The front panel frequency knob and dedicated octave switch (4'/8'/16') provide a frequency range of approximately 12 octaves.

A 1V/octave input provides accurate tracking over more than ten octaves. Other modulation features include manual PWM via the front panel knob, or via an external CV input and a FM input that can switched between an exponential or linear response.

  • Three simultaneous, buffered, DC-coupled outputs including 10Vpp (±5V) sawtooth and PW outputs, along with a mix output (up to ±10V). The sub-oscillator can be added to both the sawtooth and PW waveforms; providing 20Vpp (±10V) output signal levels. The mix output comprises the sum of the sawtooth, PW and sub-oscillator (if selected) waveforms.
  • Duty cycle of PW waveform can be varied between 50% and 100% using the front panel control.
  • Front panel frequency knob and dedicated octave switch (4'/8'/16') provide a frequency range of approximately 12 octaves (approximately 4Hz to 16kHz).
