Sample and Hold

Sample and hold in 2HP? Yes indeedy.

Operation is simple - given an input signal, every time the trigger goes high (where high ~5V or so) the input voltage will be sampled and presented at the output. When the trigger goes low again, the input signal will be passed straight through.

This makes it an ideal modulation source - if you want the classic 'stepped random voltages' sound then use a noise source as the input signal (one of them coming soon, honest), or you can use an LFO or similar to generate periodic stepped voltages for feeding into a sequencer. Or something - with a very fast trigger and an audio signal you can get a pretty decent bitcrushing effect too.

Supplied with a 2HP panel made from 3mm opaque black perspex, a power cable and mounting hardware (M3x10mm machine screws) are also provided. There's even a blinky light to show you when the trigger is high.
