Hi,

Thinking to sell some large hp modules and so the circadian could potentially go (even if it's a great module).

I am doing some test with an old korg sq 64 i got in the 2021 but never really used that much. It's kind ok for what i want to do now but there's an issue which i have to solve.

Apparently the tiptop audio sd08 is not triggered by the korg sq. I know this might happens when the trigger signal voltage is not high enough but it's actually working with any other tiptop audio drum module i have (all the 808 and 909 kick, clap and hats).

Anyone had the same issue? Any idea how to solve?

Thanks
Matteo

Maybe the problem is that the MIDI output of the SQ-64 is not optimized for the SD08 sound engine. Some synthesizers and drum machines may have unique MIDI implementations that require certain MIDI messages or settings to trigger certain sounds or parameters. In this case, it may be helpful to check the SD08 MIDI Implementation Diagram to see if there are any specific MIDI messages or settings that need to be used when starting up with the SQ-64. I found a useful link https://modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=239867&start=625 https://www.spydetectfree.com/ with a working and useful resource that might help you find a solution.

Hi,

It's not triggered by the gate output of the sq64 in the gate in of the tiptop module.

Thanks

According to the manual the output gate level for the SQ-64 can be set to 5v or 10v, so if it's currently at 5v I would give 10v a try. Also if you haven't already confirmed that your SD808 can be triggered by some other source I would do that just to make sure it's working.
