Thank you very much for the detailed review on the Argon8, its pros. That gives me to think... I might give it a second test to see and check what you mean, giving it a second chance. I only need to get an opportunity to get to my local dealer, now with the virus stuff going on, I need to see if that's for this year still doable.

Thanks a lot for your notes and your first impression and experience with the Fader Step. Of course with such a difference (Euro 600 versus Euro 120) one can't expect same functionality. I will keep this in mind.

Of course, I go to test it (B 2600) at my local dealer first as well before buying it (if buying it).

You are totally right about testing it at your local dealer first. When I heard about ASM Hydrasynth I was wildly enthusiastic but when I finally tested it at my dealer, it wasn't that fantastic as I hoped for, hence I didn't bought it.

I must say, I had similar experience with the Argon 8, after testing it, I wasn't really impressed to be honest, even less impressed than I was about the ASM... I felt both disappointed me quite a bit. Let me see if I can find my test notes about Argon 8...

Yeah, I checked, generally not impressed by the building quality and user interface quality. The knobs I felt were too loose and the keyboard quality didn't impressed me either. Overall for that money I didn't feel it was worth it. I found one positive regarding the Argon8 though and that was the usage of the joystick, I liked to use the joystick of the Argon8. However for the overall value I decided it's not worth it for me to buy it.

But looks like you were pretty happy with it? What where the qualities that convinced you about the Argon8 that I perhaps overlooked?

He, he, that kind of boat-horn just a bit before 6:00 sounds good and funny, a little bit of a high pitch, if you would give that a bit deeper pitch you could fool all boats on the sea out there, nice sound!

I made myself a few of those 6.35 mm to 3.5 mm patch cables, cheaper ;-) Today I finally had time to play with my A4 again but it was so long ago that I had to get used to it again first. So another time I need to look into combining it with my modular system.

Actually... at the end... just a rack with a bunch of modular stuff in it to look at keeps me happy (no matter which brand)!

Plaits is a nice module, I am very happy with it and it can do from semi-normal sounds to the more less common but interesting sounds, up to the user "where the sound should go". Do you have already a Marbles (Mutable Instruments) module? Perhaps that would be a nice addition to your setup? For me Marbles is on my wish list.

I am curious about your experiences with the Tesseract Modular Fader Step once you received it.

Ha, ha, yes, I have the same feeling/experience with Metropolis, I tested it at my local dealer, liked it but indeed so far haven't bought it. It's the steep price I guess and not sure for that price if one gets enough (i.e. doubting the price/performance).

Looks to me like Vector (already mentioned by Jingo) is a (very) good sequencer, if an arpeggiator will be added then that's even better.

Is it a good combination to use the Vector more for the "melody" line and let the Hermod more focussing on the percussion and drum?

Thank you for that link on Muffwiggler. Also there, there is no real good answer to the "perfect" sequencer, though the Five12 has been recommended there too, was that you? :-)

Another sequencer, non-modular, to consider is the Deluge from Synthstrom Audible, pity though that one can't try that out at a dealer because it's direct sales from New Zealand only... Do you have perhaps experience with this one?
