Yeah, the idea there was to put the Rene in so that it can work as either a sequencer OR a touchplate controller, depending on what a patch called for. Plus, the Rene has some neat interactivity when running that could be rather useful. This is also why the matrix mixer is right next to it, since those can also function as a sort of controller for altering CV behavior on the fly. FX Aid XL, definitely!
