Steiner Voltage Controlled Filter

Recreation of the classic Steiner VCF

The Steiner Voltage Controlled Filter is a favourite from the 1970s. The filter, used in the Synthacon line of synthesizers, can be used to produce anything from warm, rich tones to outlandish runaway sounds.

Yves Usson, developer of the Steiner style VCF in Arturia’s MiniBrute has created an incredible version of this classic piece of history. In fact, many of the design implementations in this improved version of the Steiner VCF made it into the MiniBrute itself..

Lower West Side Studio’s version of the Yusynth Steiner VCF features 2 CV inputs, each with its own attenuator.

It also includes a Dry Output. This helps to reduce the number of cables required to mix both wet and dry signals.
