Weighted Signal Mingler

The Altered State Machines Medusa is a 2 input - 7 output signal processor, where each output is a differently weighted average of the two inputs. The first and last outs are exact copies of the two inputs and the middle output is a 50/50 mix of the two. The remaining outputs are spread out equally spaced between them. The module provides 7 unique, but related signals from any 2 given inputs.

Additionally the modules inputs are normalled to a 6 volt reference and ground, so that with nothing patched it's outputs are 1 volt intervals between 0 and 6 volts. A signal patched into the top input with nothing patched into the bottom will create 6 copies of the input, each more attenuated than the one above it.

By inputting a DC signal into one input and a periodic signal like an lfo into the other, you can create wonky asymmetric LFO patterns that orbit the DC voltage point. The same can be done with envelopes, by using an LFO along with an envelope as your sources, the middle outputs become LFOs which orbit the Envelope as it's midpoint,

Two unrelated periodic signals will combine into 7 periodic signals, with a period equal to the least common multiple between the two input frequencies (so a 3 second LFO and a 4 second LFO will repeat after 12 seconds, etc.).

Medusa offers a way to create synchronized movement in a patch without the need for many additional modulation sources and is a perfect addition to any case, big or small.

Audio signals can also be processed through Medusa, which creates 7 static levels of crossfaded mix.
