The State 700 Filter from Frequency Central is the latest addition to Rick Holt’s module range which celebrates classic vintage Roland modular designs. This time round he is departing from the System 100, and instead focussing on the Roland System 700.
The State 700 offers that system’s state variable filter module in Eurorack format, with Lowpass, Bandpass and Highpass outputs.
A big part of the sound of the State 700 is the way in which resonance is reduced as the audio inputs are driven harder. If self-oscillation is desired, simply dial back the input level using the onboard attenuators.
One handy feature that all Frequency Central filters have is a built in 2-channel mixer at the input, saving you having to purchase additional mixers when only simple mixing is required: combining 2 VCOs; or a standard wave and a suboctave.
In addition, two CV inputs are provided, with independent attenuators for ultimate flexibility when patching.
Available as an assembled Module and as a DIY project.
