Clock Source

From top:
black button (start/stop or reset+start/stop, see description below)
running state indication LED (is on when clock is running)
red button (reset or continue, see description below)
rate knob
divider knob + LED
divided output jack + LED
clock output jack + LED
reset output jack + LED

Buttons can be set to two modes of operation depending on jumper 5 setting:
jumper 5 set = black button acts as start/stop (without activating reset output), red button makes reset in both stopped or running states
jumper 5 removed = black button makes reset + start together, another pushing stops clock generation, red button starts clock from current position (without reset generation), its another push stops clock generation. Then black button acts like MIDI start (with reset)/stop button, red acts as continue/stop button

Jumper 4 sets musical or mathematical division at divided output (jumper header set = musical, header removed = mathematical division)

Jumper 3 sets clock length, in normal clock mode 10ms (header set) or 2ms (removed), in fast clock mode 2ms (header set) or 1ms (removed)

Jumper 2 sets reset timing as “safe” = reset is generated after nearest clock ends to preserve clock length (header set) or as “instant” = reset is generated freely according to button (can overlay clock pulse, header removed)

Jumper 1 selects normal clock rate (header set) or fast clock rate (removed)

Safe basic setting is all jumper headers set (black button=start/stop, red button= reset; musical division, longer pulses, safe reset, normal clock rate)

Divider knob is used for division ratio selection in range 2-16 in normal clock rate mode (LED is on at even division ratios 2, 4, 6, … 14, 16).
In fast rate clock mode division works in “MIDI style” (division by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16, 18, 24, 32, 36, 48 and 96) allowing to create notes 1/64, 1/32 triplet, 1/32, 1/16 triplet, 1/16, 1/8 triplet, 1/16 dotted, 1/8, 1/4 triplet, 1/8 dotted, 1/4, 1/2 triplet, 1/4 dotted, 1/2 and 1/1 on divided output. Division LED is on for “normal” straight notes (except 1/1, then LED is off), LED is off for triplets and LED is dimmed for dotted notes.

Normal clock range is 1Hz to 16Hz creating tempo in range from 30BPM to 480BPM if clock output is used to make 1/8notes (or 15PBM to 240BPM if clock is used for 1/16 notes), fast clock range is 12Hz to 200Hz making “MIDI tempo” in range from 30BPM to 480BPM (24PPQ). Fast clock range mode is slightly experimental
