Chaos Oscillator

Dentist drill sounds, Pan Sonic style buzz sounds, noise or radom CV. Also good as base sounds for bells, percussions, hi hats.

Noisefoc is controlled chaos! And it's brilliant (who would have guessed it) for noise sounds. It had a couple of incarnations - from workshopmachine in plastic box to this one here with high quality panel artwork.

Noisefoc is a great learning project when entering Synth DIY. It is based around three CMOS NAND gates as oscillators, controlled by potentiometers and a light dependent resistor (LDR). There's an optical feedback of the frequencies via LEDs, two mixing circuits to mix the oscillators and a power starving function which makes the device completely out of control. The Eurorack version features a kind of CV input for pitch influence via optocoupler.
