16-voice polyphonic Autoregressive Algorithmic Synthesizer

SDKC INSTRUMENTS HELICAL
Helical, from Sdkc Instruments, is a polyphonic Eurorack voice that presents a unique approach to algorithmic music thanks to its unique Autoregressive engine. This generative approach is characterized by the pitch of the current note affecting the duration of the next, while the previous duration will impact the next chosen pitch. This ever-evolving Helical relationship leads to an unfolding sequence of notes that's not totally random but coherently related to itself.

Helical's two channels, Arc and Orbit, may be set to have up to eight voices of polyphony each. The two channels exist in their own separate threads, but share common settings for Root note, Scale, pitch Spread, pitch Glide time, and Wave selection. Drawing from common musical scales like major, minor, dorian, pentatonic, and more, Helical can produce tonally relevant note choices upon the generation of new events—select modes will even emphasize the root and fifth degrees in the lowest octave to maintain a proper perception of the key/scale. Wavetables can be created with Synthesis Tehcnology's Wave Edit software, ensuring that Helical can always sound fresh when you crave new sonic palettes. Truly a perfect partner for the generative music composer, Sdkc's Helical has plenty to offer.
