mimic is a combination of voltage controlled overdrive, vactrol lowpass gate and experimental voltage controlled feedback.
The module gives sound sources crisp, powerful timbres or crispy peaks by adding various overtones to sounds (similar to the West Coast synthesis), but can also be used as a VCA and / or as a sloping sound generator.
Mimic's gain goes up to +48 dB. This turns mimic from a gently “warm” amplifier module into a brutal sounding overdrive. The toggle switch "colour" enables 3 different timbres of the output signal.
The module is intended for processing audio signals, but it can also be used for CVs.
