Harmonic Percolator
The Dirge Even Anguish is a collaboration between Dirge Electronics and Electronic Audio Experiments. A take on the classic Harmonic Percolator circuit made famous most notably by Steve Albini of Shellac, the Even Anguish pushes the tones of the original even further. From subtle chime and light grit, all the way to clash, clang, and destruction.
The Even Anguish features a toggle switch to lift the clipping diodes out of the circuit for a boost in volume and less compression. There is enough volume on tap to drive most any amplifier into sonic bliss. This unit has the toggle switch not installed so the diodes are not in the circuit boost. It's always on stun!!
Featuring a circuit board designed by John of Electronic Audio Experiments, each Even Anguish is loaded with NOS transistors as used in the original units for authentic sound taken to the next level. Military spec PTFE wire, Alpha potentiometers and footswitch, WIMA, Orange drop, tantalum, and silver mica capacitors, along with a blend of NOS germanium and silicon clipping diodes.
Each Even Anguish is hand-engraved and finished, along with hand-wired just outside of Baltimore, Maryland in an edition of 40 numbered units and comes in a hand-stamped box with instruction sheet.
