Blinkenlights Quad Quantiser

4 Channel Quantiser with note selection, V/Oct, Gate and parallel MIDI output

A feature packed quantiser module for Eurorack, tracking over 4 octaves.

  • 14HP wide
  • 42mm deep
  • 0-4.096V V/Oct input
  • Gate In and Out, and CV In jacks tolerant of +12V - -12V
  • 12-bit DAC output
  • MIDI output over MIDI channels 1-4, mirroring the analogue output
  • supplied with a TRS to MIDI Type B cable
  • no calibration necessary - built-in 4.096V voltage reference
  • 12 note scale over all octaves
  • 4 channels with independent V/Oct in and out, and gate in and out
  • select which notes to voice using the red buttons (the red buttons select the notes played on all 4 channels)
  • Gate Out turns on when the voiced note changes
  • Gate Length knob controls the amount of time Gate Out turns on, after the note changes
  • when a jack is connected to Gate In, the module will only change note when the Gate In signal is on (so the module can be used as a quantised sample-and-hold)

This module makes a versatile addition to a Eurorack system. As well as basic quantisation, the note select switches allow it to be configured to output notes in any key. The Gate In jack can be used to turn the module into a quantised sample-and-hold, or to synchronise note changes precisely with an external clock. All 4 channels work independently, except they are all controlled by the note select switches running down the left side of the module. This makes it simple to play a 4 channel melody where all the notes are in the same key, for instance.
