Nice sendoff for the MI Stages! Cool stuff.

Fantastic! Really nice music from that patch.

Nicely done zuggamasta, cool vibe and some rich sounds.

Here's a video for a recent track "Briefly" from a new album project.

Full album here:
https://solitaireousolidaire.net/listen.html

The track in the video is modular synth, guitar, and some stuff from Spitfire Audio libraries.
The modular is a lot of Serge Eurorack from Random*Source and Analog Research (NTOs, DUSG, SSG, VCM, VCFQ, ANC, Random, TKB) plus Elby Designs Chaotica and Matrix Mixer and a track from Arbhar as well and some other utilities.

All the best.

Still working my way through the album but really enjoyed "The Bucket Brigade" and "Gloria Dei Ubique est", nicely done.

Very nice jam and cool setup, enjoyed it and thanks for introducing the band!

All the best.

Nice stuff wishbonebrewery and thanks for the link to the Anthurium video, I'll have to give the patch a try.

All the best.

Beautifully done! There are tumeni nice things going on in this patch—really pleasurable listening.

Nicely done! Some seriously good stuff in your Two and a Half Krells. Enjoyed that a lot.

Many thanks troux for taking the time and putting the collection together and to Greenleo for the assist! Much appreciated.

Applause to all the contributors—I listened trough when it was first posted, lot's of inspiration across genres. Nice work!

All the best.

I enjoyed the pings last weekend and it was nice to hear them return again for the beginning of todays installment along with the drips and sweeps. I must say that it is also nice to see that you are doing a live stream every week, seems like a motivating challenge.

All the best.

Here's a new track called "Distant".

You can search by country from there.

All the best.

This feels really nice and I like the various layers that grab you for a moment only to disappear or fade before you can truly comprehend them—nice mystery.

Here's a video for the track "Gravity" from a new album release called Air. Modular synth sounds are done mostly with Serge Eurorack for this track.

Cool vibe!

Thread: Only Pluck

Very cool track Rookie, Nicely done!

Nice jam zuggamasta and that rack does look like a lot of fun to use!

Congratulations on the album release! Nice stuff, enjoyed "The Playful Ocean" and the different moods of all the selections. All the best.

TumeniKnobs, Thanks for checking it out and the encouraging words. Yeah, that's what I'm after—soundscapes or sonic landscapes and atmospheres.

wishbonebrewery—you can download any video from your YouTube channel (Manage Videos or Channel Content)

Also, there are Apps (programs) to download from YouTube like 4K Video Downloader and Gihosoft TubeGet.

All the best.

Happy New Year and thanks for the energetic live jam!

-ADR- Really nice video demonstrations, all the info very clearly presented and explicated. I also just watched another demo on your channel and the same can be said for that as well. Thank you for the effort and work putting these together.

All the best

Here's a promo video for a new album release entitled "Surfaces". Recorded the album a while back but just got around to releasing it properly. A mix of modular synth with other stuff.

The full album is here:

All the best

Nicely done!

Hello funbun. I really like how you built up the textures in the track "Bells", which I listened to yesterday along with a couple of the others and now I see you have added two more tracks. "Which Coast Christmas?" is nice and lush for the Yuletide and the coolest title!

All the best.

All the best Lugia - and remember - no more high stress posts for you! Doctor's orders!

Very cool funbun! Really enjoyable.

All the best.

Cool sounds from that patch with the new toys, nicely done.

Wow, another nice track with some really well modeled sounds. I'm still finding inspiration from "treno" which you posted a couple months ago.

All the best.

Sweelinck, thanks for the thoughtful description.

I am enjoying working through your Soundcloud page, lots of nice discoveries there.

Congratulations on the album! Nicely done.

Thanks for watching ryanthegecko. That's what I like about modular synth, the many evocative sounds that can be expressed in many different and intriguing ways. Of course, this is true with any instrument and with the modular synth you get a huge palette which can be designed in many ways.

Thanks for checking it out Garfield.

Put a video together for a track called "Along the Windowsill" from an album project I'm working on. Best to all.

Hello Garfield,

Thanks for the colorful narrative. That was a fun read and I am glad that you found some fun in the track. Never been to Tryondip 59E but sounds like it is worth a trip.

All the best

Using eurorack Serge for all of the modular sounds combined with a couple percussion tracks and guitar.

Nice, works fine nearfield monitors with plain bottled water as well.

That's really great Garfield. Clearly demonstrates the importance of effing around!

maybe some Serge-type modules?

Also the Serge TKB, either from Random Source or Analogue Research. Expensive and a lot of HP but very powerful sequencer. And the NTO (New Timbral Oscillator) from Random Source. Analogue Research also has a few other Serge modules.

Hi Garfield,

Thank you so much for the informative and detailed report. And a second big thanks for taking the time to look at the module. I had seen videos of Rabid Elephant showing a prototype at Superbooth 2019 and it seemed like this was going to be something of interest for me, especially because at that time they were talking about releasing it as a stand-alone as well as a eurorack module. Seems like they scrapped the stand-alone (too bad because that is what I would have preferred) and are just going with the module.

I received an email from Rabid Elephant yesterday stating that preorders are open but it seems like the release is still in the distant future. Not sure if I will jump on it but time will tell.

I have their Natural Gate module and I think it is fantastic. It can really deliver a cool vibe.

All the best,
Charles

Nice track baltergeist. Thoroughly enjoyed listening.

Made a video for one of the tracks listed above. Here's the link:

Hi Garfield,

I am not going to Superbooth but I'm sure it will be a super fun experience for you. In addition to all the things on your list of must-do items I'll put in my request. If you can find time or happen to stroll by the Rabid Elephant booth please take a look at their new Portal Drum module (not released yet - been in the works for a few years). They showed an earlier iteration of it in 2019 and it looked fantastic in videos I saw. Let us know what you think if you happen to see it.

All the best.

Good stuff, nicely done both sound & visuals. A pleasure to watch and listen.

Nicely done Garfield.

Forget about VCA's, for me you can never have too many Delays or Reverbs!

Thread: Tuner

I also like to use strobe tuners. I have an older (now discontinued) model from Sonic Research (the ST 122), purchased many years ago. Now they only make it as a stomp box (ST-300). I ended up with both and they are both really fantastic.

Additionally, I have two apps for my phone:
iStroboSoft by Peterson - a really great strobe tuner app, has all sorts of features
insTuner from EUMlab - another good one

All the best

Two chaos modules from Elby Designs to look at:
IF 120 Chaotica
IF 108 ChaQuO

I am using the IF 120. Very happy with it.
Many of the NLC look interesting to me as well and have though about adding one.

Also, there is a difference between chaos and random. Nicholas is asking for chaos and some of the suggestions above are for random. See An Introduction to Chaos Generators by Chris Meyer for an explanation:
https://www.elby-designs.com/webtek/panther/if108-chaquo/chaos-generators/chaos-generators.htm

All the best

P.S. Some of the Elby Design modules are deep so not skiff friendly.

In addition to your search for a tutor you could get a copy of the book "Patch & Tweek" (if you don'y already have it).
http://patchandtweak.com/
https://bjooks.com/products/patch-tweak-exploring-modular-synthesis

Lots of good info and patch examples. Helps me to understand the basic concepts.

The manufacturers who provide manuals with example patches I always find them useful and sometimes I need to study a little to understand what's going on.
